This photograph of the Travellers Rest was taken in 1906.Before
it was the Travellers Rest this pub was known as The New Inn.This pub was
at Dale Head near Slaidburn. If you fancy a pint in this old boozer today you
would need a wet suit, because this pub is now under about 100 foot of water. All
this part of Dale Head was filled with water to create Stocks Reservoir. The
only chance you can see The Travellers Rest and the rest of the village is
when there is a drought.I think the last time this long gone pub was last
seen was in the drought of 1976.
