Market Place 1911

Another early procession passing through the market place back in 1911.On seeing this for the first time I thought it was the torchlight to celebrate the coronation of George V.But you don't have torchlight processions in the daylight.....The float in the front is the local UMC.The UMC stands for United Methodists Church and the Clitheroe branch was on Moor Lane. The church finally closed and has since been quit afew business. Amusingly today you can have a beer in their old church which is of course now the 'Emporium' on Moor Lane. Not sure what John Wesley would of thought about this!
