Coronation 1911

A early shot taken on Moor Lane for the coronation of George V.The banner being shown is for Moor Lane Sunday School with a picture of their building which is now of course The Emporium.

Another float on Moor Lane.This one entitled 'Summer'.I would of thought that these two floats were entries for the torchlight.The building at the back at this time was the local school.Even by 1911 this was the fifth torchlight and had by now become very popular not just with the local people of the Clitheroe area but alot further a field.On a final note I got just about all the information for this part of the site from 'Clitheroe Ablaze with Glory' by Sue Holden and is again well worth a read.
