The Spread Eagle on York Street

This is one old pub that nobody has ever had a pint in.This make-shift pub just existed for a day while a commercial was filmed here advertising Wilsons Ales.The band was filmed crossing the road into the 'Spread Eagle',which was really the womens toilets at the time!These two photographs were taken around 1980.

Another local haunt of many a happy misspent youth was the 'Clock Cafe' on the far left.
