Clitheroe Railway Station 1948

Clitheroe Railway Station up and running before Dr.Beeching came along and closed it in 1962.Obviously with the old gas tower in the background that is not with us anymore.

The platforms at the station back in 1948,looking alot different than it does today.Clitheroe Railway Station was closed by Dr. Beeching but after a long campaign it was re-opened again about 10 years ago.

Some old train tickets from yesteryear.I must admit I never knew that you could catch a train from the sprawling metropolis of Rimington to Chatburn.
